PART TIME - SALARY 

The Lumen Room is searching for a driven people-person with a passion for relationship-building, brand growth, and cleanliness, to serve as our Houston Community Host.


WHO YOU ARE

  • You are ready to dive right into our brand and be the face of The Lumen Room in Houston. You live and breathe service-minded hospitality and will use this gift to create relationships and turn occasional guests into regulars.  

  • You’re a clean freak and a bit of a perfectionist. You love to keep things in tip-top shape. When furniture legs look loose or baseboards look scuffed you take initiative to fix them up right away.

  • You prefer autonomy to micro-management because you are self-motivated, driven, and full of energy. 

  • You are looking for the opportunity to dive into something bigger than yourself. You want to work diligently to grow within a growing brand.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

You will be expected to handle a little bit of everything with a willingness to serve guests and keep your spaces beautiful, clean, and functional. Some responsibilities include:

  • Making sure spaces are clean, paint is touched up, and furniture is in tip-top shape at all times.

  • Keeping things running smoothly in each space during 15-minute changeover windows, making sure exiting guests do not go over their reservation times and entering guests feel welcome and ready to work.

  • Greeting guests with warmth, ensuring that every guest’s experience is consistent with our brand and standard of excellence.

  • Building relationships with the goal of converting occasional guests to regulars.

  • Selling merchandise and refreshments in the entry space.

  • Opening and closing your spaces each day and rushing to the scene if something needs repair.

  • Proactively collect feedback and discuss guests’ needs with HQ.

  • Taking simple behind-the-scenes cell phone footage of participating guests.

  • Facilitating space repairs and furniture deliveries.

  • Attending events, community gatherings, etc. to spread the word and grow the brand.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs

  • Ability to use handheld tools

  • Killer people-skills

  • Experience in hospitality, start-ups, or sales is a plus.
