OUR STORY

It all started in 2016 when Hilary needed a surgery. She had a photography studio for pet portraits and optimized it for sunlight as not to scare the animals with the bright flashes of artificial light. When the surgery date came, Hilary learned that she would not be able to schedule photoshoot for 2 months. Her husband, Xavier, suggested she host the shoots of her photographer-friends in the space to help cover the rent. They texted and posted and shared the space and the response was overwhelming. They learned that many of their peers needed a space to make their own. As photographers transformed the space, Xavier and Hilary honored their requests and met their needs with a variety of furniture, flooring, design concepts, and styling tools, and The Lumen Room was born.
